TANZANIA ROYAL SAFARIS
Overview
Itinerary
Day 1 – Arusha Serena Hotel (Lake Duluti) FB
Your day: Settle beside Lake Duluti on the slopes of Mount Meru. Gardens, tall trees, and still water make for an easy landing after travel. Arrive for lunch and let the pace slow.
Walk the grounds, listen for birds, or simply rest before dinner. The air is cool here, and the night is quiet—ideal before heading into the parks.
Day 2 – Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge (Lake Manyara) FB
Your day: Drop down the Rift Valley to Lake Manyara. Forest hides blue monkeys and hornbills; the lake draws pelicans and—when in season—flamingos. Arrive for lunch, then head out for your first game drive.
Picnic setups are available with cold drinks from the car fridge if you’d like to linger. Evenings back at the lodge are about the view as the escarpment turns gold. Optional: treetop walkway or village visit in Mto wa Mbu.
Day 3 – Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge (Ngorongoro Crater) FB
Your day: Climb into the highlands where air cools and views widen across farms and forest. Arrive at the rim for lunch with that first big look into the caldera.
The afternoon is yours—walk the terrace, breathe the fresh air, and ease into the highland rhythm. Tomorrow you’ll be on the floor of the crater for a full day.
Day 4 – Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge (Ngorongoro Crater) FB
Your day: Descend for a full day on the crater floor—lions on open grass, big elephant bulls, black rhino when luck is with you, hippos stacked in calm pools, and bright birdlife along the lakeshore.
Picnic in the wild with cold refreshments from the fridge. By late afternoon return to the rim for sunset and a relaxed dinner at the lodge. Optional: short crater rim walk (conditions permitting).
Day 5 – Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge (Central Serengeti) FB
Your day: Travel into the Serengeti with game viewing en route as the country opens to kopjes and grassland. Picnic lunch when the view calls, with chilled drinks on hand.
Work the Seronera loops for leopard and hippo; scan kopjes for lions and short grass for cheetah on the move. Dinner is easy back at the lodge under big sky. Optional: pre-book tomorrow’s sunrise balloon flight and champagne bush breakfast.
Day 6 – Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge (Central Serengeti) FB
Your day: Dawn is the moment—soft light and an active savannah. Follow herds across the plains; depending on season you may catch long lines of wildebeest and zebra on the move.
Lunch is a picnic in the bush with cold drinks. In the afternoon, choose river lines, acacia edges, or open plains—elephants, buffalo, hyena, jackal, and big cats are all possible. Return for dinner and a sky full of stars.
Day 7 – Kirawira Serena Camp (Western Corridor) B&B
Your day: Move west along the Grumeti to classic river country. This is big-game habitat: giraffe on the move, elephants near the water, and, in season, crocodiles and hippos along quiet pools.
Enjoy a last afternoon exploring the corridor before a calm evening at camp. Tomorrow, a scheduled flight returns you to Arusha—soft bags only, 15 kg limit.
Day 8 – End of Itinerary (Fly Grumeti → Arusha) —
Your day: Morning at leisure before your light-aircraft flight to Arusha. Connect onward or add a beach finish in Zanzibar.
