TANZANIA HIGHLIGHT — SPECIAL MOIVARO
Overview
Itinerary
Day 1 – Arusha Safari Lodge (Arusha) B&B
Your day: Arrive in the foothills of Mount Meru and settle into a quiet garden setting. This is an easy landing: time to reset after travel, breathe the cool air, and enjoy the view.
Take a gentle walk or simply relax by the pool as the light softens across the hills. Dinner can be arranged on request, or keep it simple and rest before the safari begins in the morning.
Day 2 – Tarangire Osupuko Lodge (Tarangire) FB
Your day: Drive to Tarangire, a landscape of baobabs and broad river views. Check in for lunch, then head out for your first game drive among elephants, zebra, buffalo, and a colorful array of birds.
Picnic gear is always ready with cold drinks in the fridge if you’d prefer to linger along the river. Lions often rest in shade, and dry-country antelopes like oryx and gerenuk are sometimes seen. Evenings are calm back at camp with night sounds all around.
Day 3 – Crater Forest Tented Camp (Karatu) FB
Your day: Travel into the highlands around Karatu, where coffee farms and forested slopes lead toward Ngorongoro. Arrive for lunch, breathe in the cooler air, and slow the pace.
The afternoon is yours—walk the grounds, watch for forest elephants, and listen for birds through the trees. Dinner is simple and satisfying, with the night full of forest sounds.
Day 4 – Crater Forest Tented Camp (Karatu • Ngorongoro day) FB
Your day: Venture into Ngorongoro Crater for a full day on the floor—lions on the open grass, big elephant bulls, black rhino when luck is on your side, hippos in the pools, flamingos on Lake Magadi, and abundant plains game.
Enjoy a picnic in the wild with cold refreshments from the vehicle fridge. In the late afternoon, return to the cool, green highlands of Karatu for a quiet evening at camp.
Day 5 – Ikoma Tented Camp (Ikoma / Serengeti edge) FB
Your day: Drive toward the Serengeti with picnic lunch for en-route game viewing. The country opens out to big plains and kopjes; watch for giraffe on the move and predators near river lines.
Check in at Ikoma on the park boundary for dinner and a night close to the action. Being outside the park allows for optional night drives or guided walks where permitted, a great chance to meet the nocturnal side of the bush.
Day 6 – Ikoma Tented Camp (Ikoma / Serengeti day) FB
Your day: Full day in the Serengeti with a picnic lunch—work river loops for elephant and hippo, scan kopjes for lions, and check acacia fringes where leopards like to rest.
In some seasons you may catch lines of wildebeest and zebra on the move; year-round the plains hold a lively mix of predators and grazers. Optional add-ons: hot-air balloon flight or sundowner setup at a scenic point.
Day 7 – Migunga Tented Camp (Mto wa Mbu / Lake Manyara) FB
Your day: Move toward Lake Manyara with a picnic lunch. This compact park is full of character—monkeys in the forest, elephants in dappled light, waterbirds along the shore, and in the right season, flamingos.
Enjoy an easy afternoon and settle into the groves around camp. Optional extras: guided cycling trail, village and market visit, or a short forest walk near camp.
Day 8 – End of Itinerary (Arusha / ARK) FB
Your day: Drive back to Arusha for lunch, then continue to the airport for your outbound flight. Zanzibar or coast add-ons can slot in smoothly from here.
